USCIS Announces Efforts to Reduce Processing Times

On March 29, 2022, USCIS announced three new policy changes, all aimed at improving efficiency for those applying for immigration benefits. The measures include:

  • Improvements to technology and staffing, along with new internal processing goals, to reduce the pending case backlog
  • Expanding the types of applications that are eligible for premium processing
  • Efforts to streamline the process for Employment Authorization Documents (EAD) and renewals
