Eligible Hong Kong residents may apply for EADs through Feb. 5, 2025

President Biden has extended and expanded eligibility for Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for certain Hong Kong residents, allowing them to remain and work in the United States. Eligible Hong Kong residents will have continued employment authorization through Feb. 5, 2025. The validity of DED-related Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) has also been automatically extended through Feb. 5, 2025. Read the full update here.

USCIS Providing Documents After Notice of Immigration Judge and BIA Decisions About Immigration Status

USCIS is now providing documented evidence of status to new asylees and lawful permanent residents upon receiving notification of their status. Individuals are still encouraged to request their proof of status, but field offices may now be able to provide documentation by mail instead of requiring an in-person appointment. This effort helps individuals obtain employment, travel, and other benefits they are entitled to. Read more here.
