USCIS Rule on Public Charge Inadmissibility Will Go into Effect in December

USCIS Rule on Public Charge Inadmissibility Will Go into Effect in December

PUBLISHED ON: October 05

USCIS has announced a rule on the public charge ground of inadmissibility. When an individual applies to be admitted into the U.S. or become a lawful permanent resident, USCIS can deny their application if it determines that they are “likely to become a public charge.” This means the individual depends primarily on the government to support himself. The new rule will go into effect on December 23, 2022. Learn more here.
