Today, The White House announced the filing date for the Biden Parole in Place Program for spouses and children of US citizens, which was initially announced on June 18, 2024. Beginning August 19, 2024, eligible persons can apply. Learn more here.

USCIS Updates Guidance on Children’s Acquisition of Citizenship

USCIS has updated its guidance on children’s acquisition of citizenship, responding to public feedback and the Supreme Court decision in Sessions v. Morales-Santana. Key updates include eligibility for denied applicants to reopen their cases, clarifications on physical presence requirements, and procedures for nested citizenship claims. Effective immediately, these updates apply to pending or new applications. Learn more here.

Extension and Redesignation of Somalia for TPS

The DHS extended and redesignated Somalia for TPS from Sept. 18, 2024, through March 17, 2026. Current beneficiaries must re-register to retain TPS. Additional Somali nationals residing in the U.S. since July 12, 2024, can now apply. Learn more here.
