Extension of El Salvador for Temporary Protected Status

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for El Salvador for 18 months, from March 10, 2025, to September 9, 2026. Current TPS beneficiaries must re-register between January 17, 2025, and March 18, 2025, to maintain their status. The Federal Register notice outlines the re-registration process and the procedure for applying for an employment authorization document.

DHS to Extend Temporary Protected Status for Venezuela

The Department of Homeland Security has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) designation for Venezuela for 18 months, from April 3, 2025, to October 2, 2026. This extension, announced on January 10, 2025, acknowledges the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Venezuela. This extension applies only to individuals already in the U.S. and currently holding TPS for Venezuela.

DHS to Extend Temporary Protected Status for Ukraine

DHS has extended Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Ukraine from April 20, 2025, to October 19, 2026, due to ongoing conflict. Current beneficiaries must re-register between January 17 and March 18, 2025, with EADs automatically extended through April 19, 2026.
