JOB TITLE: Immigration Legal Analyst
JOB DESCRIPTION: Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis of U.S. immigration laws, regulations, and precedent decisions, with a focus on asylum and humanitarian relief; Draft detailed country condition reports, client affidavits, legal briefs, and evidentiary supplements in support of filings before USCIS and EOIR; Utilize professional fluency in an Eastern European language or dialect relevant to the firm’s client base to review, interpret, and translate foreign-language legal, political, and human rights source material, and to communicate effectively with clients in that language; Collaborate with attorneys to develop litigation strategy based on individualized country conditions and evolving case law; Manage documentation and filings through legal case management systems and EOIR’s electronic portal; Apply knowledge of Eastern European legal systems, regional conflict history, and human rights frameworks to inform case development and support evidentiary arguments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- M., LLM, J.D., or equivalent degree in International Law, Immigration Law, Human Rights Law, or related field.
- Minimum of 24 months of experience as Paralegal or legal analyst experience in immigration law, including:
- Experience preparing asylum or humanitarian immigration filings involving complex country conditions (experience may be gained in the U.S. or abroad); and
- Experience working with EOIR electronic filing systems and legal case management platforms.
- Professional fluency in an Eastern European language or dialect relevant to the firm’s client base, with demonstrated ability to review, interpret, and translate foreign-language legal, political, and human rights source material, and to communicate effectively with clients in that language.
