Starting April 1, applicants using the new Form N-400 can request a Social Security number (SSN) or card and update their status with the SSA without visiting an office. They won’t need to visit an SSA office for these tasks anymore. The new form will be available for online filing, requiring applicants to create a USCIS online account. USCIS plans to expand the program to include naturalization applicants, as announced previously. Learn more here.
